Advertising On A Budget--Frequency, Frequency, Frequency

I'm illustrating the marketing challenges of a small business.

If you don't remember anything else about marketing, remember this: Frequency is king.

The more often you can get your name in front of your potential and current customers, the more likely you will make a sale.

Depending on what study you look at, people need to see your message anywhere from three to 27 times before they act upon it.

And, if you want to brand your business, then you need to get it in front of your customers as often as possible.

How do you think Ivory Soap, Campbell Soup and Tide all built their brands so deeply into our minds? Through years and years of repeatedly advertising. That's why those brands pop into our head when we think about soap, soup or laundry detergent.

So if you want to build your brand, then you need to advertise frequently.

There's another benefit to advertising frequently. It also helps your current customers.

People like to know they made the right decision after they purchased something. How much reassurance they need depends on how much they spend, but everyone needs some confirmation they made the right decision. Your advertising can help.

Studies have shown that people are more aware of car ads after they purchased a car -- specifically car ads of the model they bought. And they're more likely to both believe and approve of the message. Again, because they want to know they made the right decision.

So there are many good reasons to advertise frequently. Does that mean you have to spend a fortune? Not necessarily. There are a few tricks you can use to get the frequency you need at a low cost. (These are print tricks -- other advertising outlets, such as radio and online, we'll talk about in future issues.)

1. Make your ad as small as possible. Small ads cost less.

2. It's better to schedule your ads to run all at once than spread them out. People will never remember when they don't see your ad, only when they do. If they see your ad a lot in one week, they're going to be under the impression you advertise all the time because they won't remember NOT seeing your ad other weeks.

3. Take advantage of any frequency programs your newspaper offers. And definitely sign a contract -- don't run ads under the open rate.

Here's how it worked for PWC.

The newspaper had a program called "3 For Free." If you ran an ad three days in a row, you got the next three days for free (the paper was published six days a week).

We designed a tiny ad -- a one by two inch ad -- and we ran it six days in a row. Then we skipped the next three weeks and did the same thing again the next month.

After a year of doing this, PWC had people coming up to her telling her they saw her ad "all the time." Business owners wanted to advertise on PWC because they could see the commitment PWC had to advertising. Brides and grooms were visiting PWC on a regular basis because they were being "reminded" monthly.

What did all this cost? About $100 a month.

But, a word of caution. It takes time to build a business and a brand. It won't happen overnight. But it will happen, especially if you remember to keep getting your name in front of your customers and potential customers as often as you possibly can.

Affiliate Search Engine No Holds Barred Approach To Making Money Online

As you might have guessed, affiliate search engine marketing has become one of the quickest ways to make a fast buck online. In fact, many business owners have jumped on the affiliate marketing bandwagon as a way to promote their companies.

On the other hand, affiliate search engine marketing is a surefire way for anyone to begin a home-based business.  You see affiliate marketing is the best of both worlds.

Don't worry; if this is the first time you've heard of this unique type of marketing you are not alone. But more on that later. You may not know this but search engine marketing has taken the world by storm.

Listen to me carefully now. Many people are using this technique successfully. But many others treat affiliate marketing like looking for a needle in a haystack.

Bear with me as tell you how to get started.

Here it goes:

For starters, you'll be glad to know that affiliate search engine marketing is easy to understand. Quite simply, as an affiliate marketer you will be promoting websites and rewarded for sending visitors or customers to the site.

Understand this: compensation varies depending on the type of program you choose to promote. For instance, some websites will pay for every visitor you send to their site. However, other sites pay you a percentage of the sale of a product or service.

If you think that's nothing, think again.  One sale could net you a profit of $50 or more. It's true; some products are priced lower than that. But the beauty of affiliate programs is the fact that you get to choose which products you promote.

Honestly, you can choose to only promote programs that pay no less than $20. It's all up to you.

Here's something else: If you need a way to promote you home based business, affiliate marketing could be the diamond in the rough you've been looking for.

In this case you recruit affiliates to promote your site for you. And get this: you don't have to pay them unless they meet certain criteria. For example you could pay them based on the action the customer performs such as filling out a form, or per sale.

What this all boils down to is that you can get your site promoted for you with will little effort of your own.  Look, I'm not kidding around. The majority of business owners choose a pay per sale program.

Here is the reason why: they never have to pay out a dime unless the affiliate makes a sale. It's a win-win situation for both.

And best of all, you can make a full time income promoting other companies products and services.  Just let this sink in for minute - affiliate search engine marketing may be one the best ways to become financially secure. But don't take my word for it. Try it for yourself.

Affiliate Internet Marketing

Should you have to build you own site you will also have to buy a domain name and pay to get it hosted. The cost for a domain name is minimal at only about $10 a year. When you buy a domain name you are basically staking your claim on a parcel of the internet. Just like when the pioneers staked their claim on parcels of land, you now own a piece of the internet.

The domain name you choose is very important. It should have the keyword for the product you are promoting in it. Do some keyword research to find the best keywords to use. A good keyword is one that has high searches every month but that also has low competition. A keyword like this is like money in the bank. Download a good keyword tool and spend some time looking for a good one. Check out some long-tailed keywords, you might find your little golden nugget has four or five words in it.

You will need a good content management system, or CMS, to install a blogging platform on your affiliate internet marketing website. Your web hosting service may install a blogging platform automatically on your site. The  all you have to do is keep it updated and interesting. Use some backlinks to your website to help drive customers, or traffic, to your site.

People will respond to your blog if you keep it professional and sound like you know what you are talking about. To make the sales people have to believe that you are an authority on the subject. They need to trust you.

Now that your affiliate internet marketing site is up you can start posting reviews pertaining to the product you are promoting or you can write articles describing the product and it's benefits. Ask former customers to write testimonials and post them, too. One satisfied customer might bring in maybe as many as five to ten others looking for the same product.

Could This Be The Key To Your Success?

"Success is a state of mind. If you want success, start thinking of yourself as a success."
-- Dr. Joyce Brothers

Have you ever noticed that some people seem to attract success like a magnet?  While others can't catch a break-- no matter how hard they seem to try?

Few places is this more prevalent than in the online business world. With more than 97% of all business owners never making a dime from their ventures, it seems that lady luck is calling the shots. But maybe there is more to it than random chance.

After all, success rarely happens by accident.

It's actually our own failure that many of us plan.

Those who succeed at anything in life -- in particular business -- know what they want to achieve, visualize themselves achieving it and then make it a reality. They have a success mindset that goes beyond just the idea of wanting something; it becomes a part of who they are until they have no choice but to make it a reality.

In the early 20th century, multimillionaire Andrew Carnegie hired Napoleon Hill to study the world's most successful people. Hill spent 20 years interviewing, learning from, and understanding more than 500 of the most successful people to ever live. Among them were the super wealthy Henry Ford, John D. Rockefeller and Thomas Edison.

Using his research, Hill published Think and Grow Rich in 1937. Today it is still one of the most read books of it's kind. It has stood the test of time because his principles for success can be applied by anyone at any time. In fact, many of his ideas have since been substantiated through scientific studies. One of which is the idea that people possess the power to think their way to success.

Key in Hill's research was the discovery that successful people think differently.

They have adopted a set of beliefs that enable them to be successful.

Research now shows what the world's most successful people have always known. If you want to succeed you have to believe you will succeed. Believe that failure is not an option and it won't be.

So, how can you develop your own success mindset?

The best place to start is to stop listening to the little voice in your head that says, "No you can?t."  Instead, believe that you can do anything you put your mind to. Visualize yourself already having the thing you most desire and live your life as though it's inevitable that you'll eventually get there.

"Whatever the mind of man can conceive and believe it can achieve."- Napoleon Hill

Use this powerful technique in your own life and you're sure to be rewarded personally and professionally. Get started today and you'll be amazed how quickly your "luck" changes!

7 Online Marketing Tips For Beginners

Here are 7 online marketing tips for beginners.  We all have to start somewhere and there is a learning curve for selling information and products on the internet.  That is why I wanted to provide you with the best online marketing tips that I have developed.

1.) An online marketing tip that I would advise everyone to take is to take some time to learn a system.  Almost every system can produce results.  Don?t go from one system to the next.  Take some time to learn one system.

2.) Take action!  People get stuck with ?analysis paralysis.?  Once you have settled on a system and learned the basics, don?t be afraid to take action.  Get out there and do it.  If you make mistakes, so be it.  You will have setbacks, but don?t worry about it.  Fail fast and fail forward.

3.) Learn to write sales copy.  Perhaps the most important online marketing tip I can give you is to learn to write sales copy.  There may come a time when you outsource this task to professional copywriters, but knowing the basics yourself will allow you to evaluate their work.  Besides, you probably can?t afford to spend thousands of dollars right now on a professional, so learning to do it yourself is important.

4.) Learn to write articles quickly.  One of the best ways to promote your products is to write articles like this one and submit them to directories.  But, if it takes you 2 hours to write a single article, you will not be able to put out the quantity needed to make money online.  One expert has a system down where he can write articles in just 7 minutes.  While it will probably take you more than that at first, strive to write at least two an hour.  They don?t have to pass your 10th grade English teacher?s muster, they just have to send people to your site.

5.) Consider Pay Per Click.  PPC is the quickest way to deliver traffic to your website.  However, if you don?t learn how to do it, you can lose your shirt.  If you have a product that you want to start selling right away, PPC is the best avenue for you.  But learn the ins and outs before you bid on high priced, high trafficked keywords.

6.) Create processes.  You shouldn?t re-invent the wheel every time you create a new product or a new web site.  Instead, have a specific system.  Develop your own guide book to setting up a blog or promoting an ebook.  Not only will this save you time in the long run, it will also help you make more money.  This is one of those online marketing tips that so many marketers miss.

7.) Create value.  Don?t think that internet marketing is all about taking your customer?s money.  Don?t think of your customers as ?marks.?  Develop relationships with them and provide value to them.  It?s much harder to get an initial customer than have someone who trusts you buy from you again.

So, there are seven online marketing tips to get you going.  Now, go get started!
